Starting in 1954, Chile's most important folk musician began to develop her extraordinary talent as an artisan and visual artist. Violeta Parra worked on paintings, ceramics, wire sculptures, masks, and textiles, the latter being the most notable expression of her rich plastic universe. Hers has been a work exhibited all over the world, but that came to be valued very late in her own country. From March 2007, Violeta's textiles will have a definite place of exhibition: the Palacio de la Moneda Cultural Center.
