Located on San Cristóbal Hill, Santiago Metropolitan Park is the fourth-largest urban park in the world, covering an impressive 722 hectares. Known as the largest “green lung” of Santiago, it offers a wide range of attractions including the funicular, cable car, National Zoo, Tupahue swimming pool, and the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception.
Opening Hours
- Pedestrians: Monday to Sunday, 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Cyclists:
- Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Note: From 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM, cyclists must wear a helmet, front and rear lights, and reflective gear, as first aid services are unavailable.
- Motor vehicles: Private motorized vehicles are not allowed.
How to Get There
The park is completely free of private motorized traffic, allowing only pedestrian and bicycle access through its main entrances.
Pío Nono Entrance

- Directions: Take Metro Line 1 or 5 to Baquedano Station, then walk about 20 minutes along Pío Nono Street to the main entrance.
Pedro de Valdivia Norte Entrance
- Address: Pedro de Valdivia Norte s/n, Providencia
- Access: Pedestrian, inclusive access, and bicycles
- Directions: Take Metro Line 1 to Pedro de Valdivia Station, walk 17 minutes along Pedro de Valdivia Norte Avenue until you reach Avenida El Cerro, where you’ll find the park entrance and Oasis cable car station.
Ways to Reach the Summit
Visitors can explore San Cristóbal Hill on foot or by bicycle, but there are also more scenic options:
Santiago Cable Car
- Operates: Tuesday to Sunday (including holidays), 10:00 AM – 7:40 PM
- Features: Three stations with options for round-trip or one-way tickets.

Open-Top Panoramic Buses
- Operated by: Turistik (also manages the cable car and funicular)
- Operates: Monday to Sunday, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM (last departure at 7:30 PM)
- Pet policy: Pet-friendly, allowing visitors to bring pets to the summit.
