1. South Western Sri Lanka

Confusingly Sri Lanka’s southwest and northeast coasts have different dry and rainy seasons. The good thing is no matter when you visit, you are bound to catch one half of the island at its best. But if you want to dodge the rainy season completely you should visit the South Western part of Sri Lanka in February when it’s the dry season.

February marks the end of the winter season in India and it’s a pleasant climatic time to explore the country before the heat really begins to increase. A party that needs no introduction: Rio Carnival. An annual world celebration, Rio de Janeiro becomes a flood of colour, music and dance as the streets come alive in a whirlwind of samba festivities. You can party in true Brazilian style and cheer on the parade as dancers shimmy down the Sambadrome competing for the win. Of course it’s a no brainer that Rio de Janeiro is one of the best places to visit in February.



7. Mendoza, Argentina

February is slowly marking the end of summer in Argentina and it’s an excellent time to visit the wine region Mendoza with average temperatures ranging from 20 to 27 degrees Celcius degrees. Surrounded by picturesque mountains and peppered with vineyards, Mendoza is a mandatory stop for any wine-lover visiting South America.

8. Belize & Guatemala

Central America is the ultimate destination for your February holiday as it’s the dry season and warm in most countries. Belize and Guatemala are no exception, dry season, warm weather and clear skies are the norm in February. Lie on the relaxing beaches of Caye Caulker in Belize, explore the jungle near the San Ignacio area and visit the Maya Site of Tikal.
